Midget AAA is headed to the Provincials!
Midget AAA is headed to the Provincials! Come out and support our Midget AAA Colts as they battle for the Provincial title. All games are in Abbotsford. Mar 17 1:30pm vs Kelowna Mar 18 5:00pm vs. Langley Mar 19 5:00pm vs Comox Mar 20 8:00am vs Prince George The Midget AAA team is a group of highly skilled, competitive, driven individuals who started the season strong and were rewarded with a Tier One ranking. They proved this early on with a 6-0 undefeated victory in the Victoria classic tournament. This lead to good start to the season with the team being the first Midget AAA team to reach First Place in Tier One. This was short lived with a series of ties to end the regular season. With a bye in the first round and a win in the second round of playoffs we went to Phoenix and competed in the Elite division of the annual President's Day Tournament with a respectable 500 record. The trip built confidence and team unity helping in a great Victory over Hollyburn in the third round of playoffs. In the Final Four the team really started to show their desire for success and willingness to compete with victories over Semiamhoo and Seafair securing a spot at the Provincials for the second time in three years. This team represents CMHA well and are exciting to watch and will surely make themselves known at the Provincials.

Cloverdale Alumni Spotlight
Besides sibling rivalries, we also have some Cloverdale alumni brothers playing together as team mates. Scott and Brett Mackey are playing for the Mission City Outlaws. They both work hard, not only as players, but also as referee's. Scott, Brett and their dad, Danny (CMHA Referee in Chief) continue to referee in Cloverdale and provide great help in training and mentoring of our younger referee's. Thanks to all the Mackeys and good luck in the upcoming hockey season. Brian Orth President, CMHA

CMHA CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM
Dear CMHA member, Over the past few years, the cost for team events and tournaments has risen steadily. In order to meet these funding challenges, an increasing number of parents and players are approaching the corporate community to assist in offsetting some of these costs through team sponsorships. Because of this, and to help our members with their fundraising, the CMHA Executive and Scott Forbes, Sponsorship Manager, have created the “CMHA Corporate Sponsorship Package” as a way for interested teams to approach corporations for sponsorship. Included in the package is a letter which provides the sponsor with an outline of the opportunity, with a $1,500 sponsorship, to have their company’s name affiliated with their sponsored team as well as community recognition through ads in the Hockey Now, a team banner, ad space on the web page and inclusion in our tournament programs. The Sponsorship Package was developed as a sustainable way to help our teams find funding to offset their season's expenses. Any team opting to partner with CMHA in using the Corporate Package to approach sponsors will receive 2/3rds of the amount for team expenses ($1000), with the balance of the funds ($500) used by CMHA to cover the costs of the banners, ads, etc. Teams can have multiple sponsors, of which the various corporate logos and/or individual names will be included on the team banner (for example 3 sponsors will mean $3000 toward your team). As part of the program, teams will be responsible for displaying their team sponsorship banners at all games throughout the 2012/2013 season. CMHA is undertaking to create all the banners, run the ads, and ensure that the information of the sponsors is included in our tournament programs. Banners will be prepared on or about October 31st so all sponsors should be booked and paid before this date. If proper Artwork or company logos are available these will be accommodated or if not available the Company (or individual name) will be displayed on each banner. This sponsorship package has been carefully designed to benefit our teams and players for the 2012/13 season. It is important that funds are used specifically for the benefit of the players, such as tournaments, extra ice, and other development type expenses. The funds must be allocated equally for each player on the team, and participating teams will be asked to provide a team budget. This is a great new program, and sponsorships can start being gathered now for the 2012/13 season. Thank you to Scott Forbes for all his groundwork on getting this set up. Sincerely, Brian Orth, President
